Gabe just returned from a 12 day fishing trip in Canada. This was his biggest catch: a 50", 33lb musky (his favorite fish)! This is definitely the way he'd love to celebrate all of his birthdays! Happy 29th Braza!!

We have a heartbeat!!
We had our first ultrasound pretty early this time around. I told the doctor that I knew once a heartbeat was detected the chances of miscarriage decreased significantly, so I was eager to hear our new baby's as soon as possible. She obliged - we were ecstatic to hear one especially since a lot of babies hearts won't start to beat for a few more days. Our baby is measuring at 5w5d which completely lines up with my chart. They gave me a due date based on my LMP which would make me 6w2d and would only change the due date if the measurements and LMP date are more than seven days apart. Since the dates are only 4 days apart, they are keeping my due date at April 12th even though it is really April 16th. Sorry, if you don't understand this, but I love it. Anyway, April 16th just happens to be my grandma's birthday. She just went to Heaven on April 2nd of this year, so it would be really exciting if this baby happen to be born on her birthday. We'll see...And don't forget to keep us in your prayers (please!)

Poor Noah
Three hours later, Noah was acting like himself again. His temperature had dropped to 100 and all the tests came back negative. They said it may have been a virus but don't know for sure.
Dancing Noah
We just changed the video of Noah again. This is actually footage from July 16th so it's a little old, but still SO funny and cute - and yes, he is in his toy box at Mimi and Poppy's. If you double click on the image, a larger screen will pop up. If you want to see the hide and seek movie, it's back under May 2nd's post.

San Diego
This morning we went to Sea World. These tickets were included in the San Diego vacation package he won. We visited a lot of the animals. Above are Shamu and the sea lions (or the other ones that look similar- I can't remember). We watched them get fed. Boy, were they excited and loud!
This is Noah and Daddy on a ride and Noah visiting the Polar Bear.
Here is a Beluga whale and some penguins.

Later on, we went downtown and stopped at Seaport Village. We looked at all the huge ships.

In the evening, we strolled downtown in the Gaslamp District. We stopped and ate gelato while Noah ate a Nutrigrain bar. We're not that mean!! He also had a few bites of the gelato and loved it!!

San Diego
Jay won a trip to San Diego. This was the first time we would actually spend time there rather than a quick stop or just a pass through so we were pretty excited to check out what everybody always fusses about. We walked along the boardwalk near Belmont Park. This is Noah staring at the roller coaster or the pigeons that wanted hand-outs during lunch. After TONS of walking, we went on a ferry around Mission Bay. They had a whole floor just for kids with sing-alongs and lots of dancing. We had fun watching all the kids enjoy themselves!!

Trouble
Here comes trouble! This is not something we condone at all, but Noah has just found enough strength to pull himself up onto his toy box. His original inspiration was to flip the light and fan switch on and off, but ever since we pulled it away from the wall, he is satisfied with just standing on it. I know it doesn't look like it (because I took pictures) but we are really working keeping him down from there. As of right now, going in "the naughty corner" is worth those few moments of exhilaration for him.
Kisses!!
Happy Birthday Elisa!

Goodbye!
Goodbye to another vehicle. Our lease us up on the Pathfinder tomorrow so we let it go a day early - and 103 miles under contract. Again, Jay would like to keep track of our cars so he and Noah can look back on them some day. If you look closely, you can see the palm trees getting a small taste of monsoon season. It hasn't officially started, but it's right around the corner.

Swimming at Aunt Jenna's
This picture is of John teaching Noah how to pet a dog. Noah has very little experience around animals and though he loves them, he can get overwhelmed with them getting so close.

Happy Birthday Mom/Mimi!
Poppy surprised Mimi with a small surprise party. We had a spectacular meal of broiled sea bass, fried halibut, fried bay scallops, cole slaw, and french fries. It's funny how you can take a potentially healthy meal and throw it in some oil and all the nutrients go right down the drain. It certainly was delicious though. I made blueberry crumble for dessert and boy was it scrumptious with vanilla ice cream melting on top. I definitely slacked off with taking pictures because I was tied up helping to prepare the meal. Jay, Noah, and Mimi swam while we slaved in the kitchen. We had a great evening eating and telling stories. Happy Birthday to the best mom in the world! When I say that, I mean the best mom for me - I hope that everyone thinks that their mom is the best!
Happy Birthday Giana!

Cooling off
Noah took a little ride around Mimi's pool this afternoon. She also found some fruit puree popsicles, so I folded and let Noah have one - mainly because I was so warm and wanted one myself. I would've felt terrible eating a refreshing treat in front of him while he continued to bake in the sun. Needless to say, he enjoyed it, but believe it or not, he didn't want to eat the whole thing.
