It's bittersweet to come back after a LONG hiatus of not posting when I see this is where I left off. We celebrated Gramps' last birthday at our house with a big homemade cupcake and ice cream. It was a great time for everyone especially because instead of Gramps being more of an observer like he had over the last few months, he was eager to share memories of his family growing up and other stories from his life. We all sat and listened and asked questions which perked him up and really made him feel special. The best part is that we thought fast and video taped a large portion of it. It was only three weeks later that Gramps went to Heaven. We are all so happy that we could spend that special day together with him.
