My Baby

March 29th: We woke up to this irritated eye this morning. Since Nate's right tear duct is still closed, we never know if he is experiencing just a "normal episode" or something more. Whenever it becomes bothered, people always guess or assume that he has pink eye. Luckily, I am able to ease their fears quickly with the reassurance that it is only a clogged tear duct. Jay and I were both on the fence though this time. A few friends and family volunteered their opinions, all reaching the same conclusion: not pink eye. Phew! What a relief!

March 30th: I heard Nate's voice over the monitor this morning saying, "My eye closed, uh oh!" I was horrified to find my baby's eye like this. You can see why I called his pediatrician for the first available appointment.

I am a little embarrassed that I don't even remember Nate's official diagnosis. I remember Dr Nason telling me it was serious and that Nate needed an antibiotic shot immediately to get this thing under control. She was nervous that it would turn into a skin infection around his eye as well. I left a little scared because we had an appointment to come back for a check-up the next day to make sure there was improvement. If there wasn't, he would need to be hooked up to an antibiotic drip at the ER.
After the shot, we had to wait 20 minutes to make sure there was no reaction to the antibiotic. We hung out outside on the curb and ate a cookie, which made Nate forget all about that horrible shot.
The next morning, Nate's eye had improved immensely. We were so happy! Instead of giving him another shot, she just started him on a 10 day antibiotic cycle. It was that day that his eye was almost entirely back to normal. Thank you so much for all of your prayers! We know that they were a huge part in Nate's speedy recovery.

Great Grandpa & Great Grandma

We look forward so much to Grandma and Grandpa's annual visit in March! The kids love them like they see them everyday and, of course, the kids feel that love right back from them. The month seems to go by faster and faster every year, and every year we encourage them to consider (and reconsider!) a permanent move out here. Thank you so much for making the effort to come and see us every year! We love you guys!

Mickey Ears

Today The Disney Store celebrated their 25th anniversary and we just happened to be there. They gave us commemorative Mickey ears and had lots of fun stuff going on in their store!
After we ate lunch, we had our own celebration with ice cream! Nate and I shared a cone while Noah ate his own and then honed in on ours.

Party Time

We celebrated Noah and Nate's birthdays together again this year. Depending on how Noah feels about it next year, we may or may not do the same. At this point, Noah doesn't care about having a celebration all to himself. Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures. I don't rely on myself anymore for them because Jenna and John have their fancy camera and always get the best shots. I just have to get them from Jenna.
The bounce house was a HUGE hit!
And so was the piƱata! I don't know how I don't have a pic of Noah hitting it though!?!?

Thank you to everyone for helping out with the food and everyone else who helped us celebrate Noah's 4th and Nate's 2nd birthdays! The day couldn't have been any more perfect!!

Swimming!?!?

Julia gave Nate a partial haircut this morning while Noah and Charlotte went for a dip. The water was NOT WARM! They shivered and loved it!

Special Time

Every week or so, Noah and I go on a little breakfast date - just the two of us. He loves going to Einstein Bros. Bagels. He gazes through the glass at the bins of bagels trying to carefully select which flavor he will indulge in. The shmear never changes though. He goes for strawberry every time.
I love having this time with him. It's uninterrupted, and that's a commodity in these parts.

Trinity

I was flipping through my pictures when I got to this one and all I could think was how much I saw Trinity in that expression on his face. Am I crazy or does anyone agree?

Writing on the Walls

While Jay checked out a few things at Tilly's, the girl at the dressing rooms handed over a bunch of markers to keep the boys busy...

Zoo

I tell you, for some reason, we are not zoo people. It's not that we don't love animals or the outdoors... I just can't figure it out. After so many years, we give it another try and always walk away with the same conclusion - we're never coming back! Isn't that sad? Or maybe it's just the Phoenix Zoo. We do plan on visiting the San Diego Zoo soon so if that turns out to be a bust, then we'll know there's something wrong with us. Anyway, my mom and I took the boys to the zoo this morning and I'll just say it wasn't terrible because I don't have many highlights to share. :( I'll leave it at that.

But they sure did love their sno-cones!!

Just Working on the Car

Jay was trying to fix a hinge on the trunk of his G-ride when Nate woke up from his nap. I brought him outside, but he turned around and ran back into the house, then back out again with his potty chair. He pushed it up to the trunk and climbed up to work on the car with Jay. I tell you, this kid is not lazy. He puts a lot of effort into a lot of things and never gets frustrated or impatient. I could definitely learn a thing or two from him. In fact, I am.

Family Fun!

Nana and Papa invited us to the park this morning. It was a beautiful day to be outside and enjoy the company of our family. The kids had a blast on all the rides and are eager to go back!!

Dirt Cups

Noah brought his birthday treat into school a little early because school will be out for Spring Break during his birthday. He saw this recipe in my recipe box and was sold as soon as he saw the gummy worms.
*I apologize for the quality of my photos. I only use my iPhone so there is never any touching up of the photos and with these ones in particular... I wasn't planning on taking a pic of these until I pulled into the parking lot at school. These were taken in the backseat of the van. lol
