Swimming at Aunt Jenna's

Aunt Jenna invited us over for dinner and to swim. Dinner was delicious and we had fun playing with Noah in the pool. I only took a few pictures because I wanted to join in on the fun. They tried to teach him to jump in the pool, but he just walks in instead. John twisted the noodle into a pretzel around Noah and floated him around. I wish I got a picture of that because it was so cute! He also loved standing on the rafts. We'll definitely be going over again soon!!

Carousel Ride

Mimi, Noah, and I went to AZ Mills Mall this afternoon. Noah and Mimi simultaneously spotted the carousel and immediately knew the others thoughts. We headed over and they both got their wish...
Someone got another wish...
Do you notice that he is riding a different horse this time? Yes, Mimi folded and took him on the carousel again. He would have loved round three, but we had to put our foot down.

Kisses!!

Noah is officially a kisser! I kiss him all the time and always ask for one back. Today he surprised me with a wide open mouth full of saliva and planted one right on my lips. When Jay came home that night, he didn't want to stop his new-found trick. He rotated between kisses for Daddy and then for Mommy back and forth for a few minutes. I could have played that game all day! If you're lucky, you'll get one next!

Splash Pad

I took Noah to the splash pad at San Tan mall this afternoon to cool off. Like everything, he loved it!
Don't forget to check out the new video on the left. We replaced the Happy Birthday movie with Jay playing with Noah in the family room. If you want to see the Happy Birthday movie again, it's under the 3/21 posting.

Happy Birthday Gramps!

Gramps turned 89 today!! We celebrated at one of his favorite restaurants - Chen's Chinese. After dinner, we went back to great grandma and grandpa's and danced the night away to a little Sinatra. We had a great day with our family! Happy 89th Birthday Gramps!!

Playtime

After breakfast this morning, Noah played at this toddler play area. He had so much fun exploring everything and chasing around the other kids.

Water Park

We went to Mesquite Groves Water Park today. Look at this ladies' man. He's not afraid of approaching older women. He was making them giggle and entertaining them while they ate their Italian Ice - hmm, maybe that's why he went over there.
Unfortunately, there was so much water being splashed around that I couldn't bring my camera in the water area. We went on the lazy river but spent most of our time going down the slides and playing with the water features. We could hardly get Noah out of the water. He was exhausted and it was nearly his nap time but he still wanted to stay in. It was unbelievable to see him wade through the water. We were right next to him the whole time, but he walked on his own through water that came up to his chest. He was not the least bit afraid. I'm really excited to start his swimming lessons when we get back from Ohio in June. We'll be coming to this pool for them. Thanks Great G&G Erickson for this fun gift that we'll enjoy together!

Bowling

You wouldn't believe we were actually bowling by these pictures because I'm sure it looks more like a photoshoot. Unfortunately, my camera died almost immediately after I started clicking away, but at least I got a few shots. Sorry to everyone who didn't make it in a photo. We had a lot of fun and are excited to do this again. Tanj treated everyone - thanks Tanj!
Nana and Papa came over for dinner and then watched Noah while we were out. They said they had a blast with a photoshoot of their own.

First Doctor's Appointment

Today was our first of many doctor's appointments to come. I love that these are fun appointments! There are 5 doctors at this office, but I made the appointment with Dr. Muniz who is the doctor who delivered Noah. She is my absolute favorite! I am hoping that she can deliver this baby too. Anyway, the appointment was pretty standard. We visited, they took some blood, and we were on our way. We walked out and Jay said, "I never heard them say you were pregnant." He's so funny! He was serious. He couldn't believe that we got pregnant the first month when it took six to conceive Noah. I called the triage nurse just to check and she confirmed that I am indeed pregnant. I called Jay to let him know and he said that it now feels real. We're both really excited to expand our family and bring a live-in friend to Noah. We have an ultrasound scheduled in three weeks. As of today, they gave me the rough due date of January 10th, but I know my cycle and am pretty sure it will show up closer to the 17th when they measure the baby on June 4th. I'll keep you posted!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies! We had a great day celebrating with four generations (three of which were mothers). Of course, Noah spotted the balloons so Poppy had to work the hostess and get Noah hooked up with one.
And I got the greatest present...

Today

Cleaning definitely takes a little bit longer now that Noah likes to help. He followed Jay around at least half the kitchen holding on to the cord thinking he was pushing it. It was so cute! Second on our agenda was to start putting up Noah's photo gallery in our main hall. It has been bare since we moved in and haven't been able to decide what to do with it until Noah arrived. We put up these six and have spots for nine more next to these. Then we will move on to the wall across from it. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. Noah walked passed, stopped and stared, points at the pictures, and said "baby". I'm so excited to add more! Then we went outside. Noah played in his sandbox, explored the yard, and then went in the sprinkler. I didn't think he was going to like it, but I was so wrong. He loved it and didn't mind the water getting in his eyes. We went out to dinner and saw a tribute band called Apple. Noah attracted a lot of attention dancing to the Beatles music.

The movie is of Noah hiding from Jay.

Girls Night Out

Tanj, Kristen, and I had a much-needed and well-deserved night out together. We had a ton of fun going to dinner, shopping, and taking pictures (more to come). This is only the 4th time I have gone somewhere without Noah since he's been born, but I have to admit this will probably happen a little more often now that nursing isn't so demanding.

What Noah's up to

Although Noah has not officially used his potty yet, he has learned what it is and how to say it - "potty". He also says "poo poo" and knows that poo poo goes in the potty. A few newer words he's added to his vocabulary are "go", "block", "cheerio" (although it doesn't sound very much like it), and "truck". I'm not sure if I put this in last months post, but he also knows what the sheep says - "baa", the cow says - "moo", the duck says - "quack", and the train says - "choo choo". He really gets a kick out of us saying "chugga chugga, chugga chugga, choo choo!" We don't have stairs in our house, but ever since he realized that they exist, he goes straight for them - up and down over and over again. Noah is learning very well to help clean up. He wasn't very cooperative when we tried this a couple months ago, but he is really eager to help now. Noah seems to understand most things we say to him. We ask him to put something somewhere, come over here, let's go to noah's room, let's go to mommy & daddy's room, where's daddy (if he's in another room, he'll go find him), etc. It's amazing to think that he has learned everything he knows in only 13 months. We love watching him learn!
