This weekend

This weekend Kristen ran a booth at the Nie Carnival Fundraiser, so Tanj and I volunteered to help her. The booth was a pirate/treasure hunt theme. We had a big blow-up sandbox filled with toys for kids to dig for. I must say, it was a hit!! Noah loved it too!

Papa's Birthday Party!

We celebrated Papa's birthday on Sunday. Noah loved helping him blow out the candles. He always has a great time with the family because he never gets set down. He was so worn out at the end of the night that he fell asleep on the way home...

Noah's New Shoes

These baby shoes were hand-carved out of two pieces of wood by Noah's Great Grandpa Erickson. They are a very special gift that all the new babies in the family receive. His name and birthday are engraved on the plaque. Thank you very much for this beautiful gift!

shopping

I just think Noah looks so cute sitting up in a shopping cart, so I wanted to share this picture with you. He loves the view so much better than being in his car seat.

Birthday Dinner

With a very busy schedule, we ended up celebrating my birthday a little late this year. We have a great group of friends and always have a ton of fun when we get together. Unfortunately, we had a small handful that couldn't make it, but hopefully, they'll be around for Kristen's when we celebrate in December. And whoops, I didn't get any pictures of the guys except one of Jay and me. No, I take that back. Here's a picture of
Jake, Elisa, and their precious 2 week old, Isabella.

Saturday

One of our neighbors hosted a community party Saturday afternoon. The Chandler Fire Department was invited among many other high-profile guests (McGruff the Crime Dog, just to name one). Anyway, they gave all the kids a tour of the fire engine, sounded the sirens, flashed the lights, and lifted the ladder. Noah loved it, but his dad definitely loved it a little more.

Great Grandparents' Day

Today we visited some of Noah's Great Grandparents. As you can see, he loved GG's mirror and Great Grandma Sottosanti's cup.

We feel blessed that a large handful of our extended family is here in Arizona with us. We are hopeful that we can make the trip back to Ohio soon to have the rest of our family and friends meet him. We received news today that Noah's Great Grandma and Grandpa Erickson will be visiting for the entire month of March 2009 for the second year in a row. We're excited that they will be here to celebrate his 1st birthday with all of us!

These two pictures are from the day Noah was born. In fact, he might have only been in this world for a half an hour.

Birthiversary

We just got back on Thursday night from our vacation - aka: birthiversary (birthday/anniversary). My birthday was on October 2nd and our 5 year anniversary is coming up on the 11th. It was a surprise present from Jay. Normally, I hate surprises. I am quite the planner and don't like anything unexpected. Jay knows this, but for some crazy reason, he set this up anyway. I know it sounds weird, but I was a little hesitant about going at first, but I am so glad we did. This was a much-needed and well-deserved vacation for us. We went to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico and stayed at this incredible resort called Las Palomas. We spent most of our days floating around on the lazy river soaking in the most perfect sun rays we've seen in a long time. The majority of our vacations consist of going back to Ohio to visit family or going to Disney which as many of you know, is anything but relaxing. Anyway, this trip reminded us about how blessed we are to live in the United States. All the areas outside of the resorts look like Guadalupe. For those of you outside of Arizona, trust us, it's bad. To me, it looks unlivable. All in all, we had a super birthiversary and look forward to going back!!
